I grew up in Zhejiang, southeast China, and got a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. I began my research journey during my postgraduate life at China Agricultural University. I was involved in three bioinformatics projects on anti-bacteria, aging, and muscle development at Prof. Hongbing Han‘s Lab.
In my first project, I focused on discovering the potential mechanics of a man-made fusion TLR (Toll-like receptor) in anti-S. aureus infections on gene-edited goats with RNA-seq. With the same technology, I studied the reproduction-rescuing ability of Selenium on aging hens and the quality of their eggs. On the muscle development project, I defended my master’s thesis on genome-wide epigenetic changes during postnatal skeletal muscle growth in Hu sheep.
After graduation, I joined a start-up specializing in proteomics and was involved in biomarker discovery projects to sort microbiome peptides after diet treatment and disordered protein in cancer cohorts. After my study on liver cancer and the blood immune system at the lab of Prof. Kol Jia Yong, I joined the Pallares lab in February 2024 as a PhD student!
